[International] Trump Requests Lifting of Ban, Hopes to Resume Border Wall Construction in National Park

On the 21st, U.S. President Donald Trump's team asked the Supreme Court to allow the continuation of the construction of the wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, which includes Big Bend National Park in Texas.
The U.S. Department of Justice filed an emergency application, requesting the Supreme Court to overturn a federal judge's injunction. The injunction stated that construction of the wall must not proceed while environmental groups and related organizations are engaged in litigation.
The "U.S.-Mexico Border Wall Project" is an anti-immigration policy that Trump is proud of. The Trump administration plans to extend the wall into Big Bend National Park, a move that has drawn opposition from local officials, conservation organizations, and some Texas Republican members.
In response, the relevant groups and individuals decided to file lawsuits. One group dedicated to preserving historic churches stated that the wall construction is affecting the fragile adobe structures of the churches.
While filing lawsuits, these groups also questioned the legitimacy of a series of waivers issued by the Department of Homeland Security; these waivers circumvented multiple environmental and conservation laws, aiming to expedite the construction of roads and barriers in the Big Bend National Park area.
Former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and current Secretary Markwayne Mullin, who signed the waivers between February and July of this year, stated that the area is a "high-risk zone for illegal entry" and requires additional barriers to control the border.
U.S. District Court Judge Kathleen Cardone in El Paso issued an injunction on October 2nd to halt the project, stating in her ruling that the waivers signed from February to July exceeded the authority of the Department of Homeland Security.
The Department of Justice urged the Supreme Court in its application to stay or vacate Judge Cardone's injunction.
The Department of Justice stated: "Even assuming the Secretary of Homeland Security's waiver authority involves issues of 'significant economic and political impact,' Congress has indeed explicitly authorized the Secretary to build the border wall and to waive legal requirements to expedite construction."
In August of this year, the project faced bipartisan criticism for potentially damaging the park's landscape and wildlife ecosystem, after which Trump's team temporarily halted construction within Big Bend National Park. Previously, the construction team had already begun preparations for the project, leading to protests and lawsuits demanding a halt to the work.
