Mental Health Support Program for Young Adults: Counseling Resources Available for Life in Taiwan

G

After studying, looking for a job, or starting work in Taiwan, stress can sometimes build up. It could be from academics, work, relationships, family expectations, financial pressure, or simply feeling tired and anxious in a new environment without knowing who to talk to. In reality, mental health, just like physical health, deserves care. You don't only need to seek help when things are 'very serious'; sometimes, just wanting to sort out your own state of mind or talk to a professional is also a way of taking care of yourself. The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) continues to promote the 'Mental Health Support Program for Young Adults Aged 15-45' in its 115th year, offering 3 free counseling sessions per eligible individual. According to MOHW information, this service is available to citizens aged 15-45, as well as foreign nationals holding a National Health Insurance card. If needed, you can visit the 'Young Adults' Hearts, I'm Listening' program website to find partner institutions and then inquire about appointments based on the website's information. The process can generally be divided into four steps: search, appointment, prepare identification documents, and receive counseling services. Program website: https://sps.mohw.gov.tw/mhs Radio Taiwan International (RTI) previously compiled related news, mentioning that the program continues this year and is also available to foreign nationals holding a National Health Insurance card. For those living or working in Taiwan, or planning to stay, this is a mental health resource worth noting.
