RtiTalk introduces a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of migrant workers and building a friendly society – One-Forty (Taiwan Forty-One Migrant Worker Education and Culture Association). 🌱 Recognizing Needs, Redefining NGOs Founded in 2015, One-Forty firmly believes that 'NGOs can be innovative and professional.' Their mission is clear: 'To make every Southeast Asian migrant worker's journey in Taiwan worthwhile and profound.' For One-Forty, migrant workers coming to Taiwan should not just be about labor; it should be a life experience that allows them to accumulate knowledge and skills, and substantially improve their future. 📚 Empowerment and Education: Breaking the Vicious Cycle of Poverty To address the adaptation challenges faced by migrant workers in Taiwan and help them plan for the future, One-Forty has established the largest 'Southeast Asian Migrant Worker Learning Community' in Taiwan. Online and Offline Courses: Offering training in Mandarin Chinese, financial management, savings, and even business entrepreneurship, helping migrant workers gain economic independence upon their return home. Digital Learning Platform: To date, over 300 mother-tongue instructional videos have been produced, attracting more than 80,000 migrant workers to continue their studies online. Book and Learning Kits: Physical learning materials are mailed across Taiwan, not only assisting migrant workers in self-study at home but also providing employer guides to significantly reduce cultural shock and promote better communication between employers and employees. 🤝 Public Advocacy: Building a Friendly Bridge Between Taiwan and Southeast Asia One-Forty deeply understands that building a diverse and inclusive society requires mutual understanding. Over the years, they have organized over 120 cultural exchange events and annual exhibitions, and shared real migrant worker stories through video documentaries. These actions have not only broken down societal stereotypes of 'foreign laborers' but also opened a window for Taiwanese people to learn about Southeast Asian cultures, allowing goodwill to flow across borders. 💬 [Interaction Time] Dear community friends, do you have any heartwarming experiences interacting with Southeast Asian migrant friends in your life in Taiwan?
