[Finance] Taiwan Futures Index Night Session Rises, Analysts: Taiwan Stocks May Challenge 45,200 Points

Major U.S. stock indices showed mixed performance, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, highly correlated with Taiwan stocks, rising by 104.61 points. Analysts stated that Taiwan stocks rose by 191.96 points on the 11th, closing at 45,120.72 points. The Taiwan Futures Index night session rose by 194 points, and Taiwan stocks are expected to challenge 45,200 points today.
With the U.S. July Consumer Price Index about to be released, U.S. stocks were mixed on the 11th. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 184.13 points, a decrease of 0.34%; the S&P 500 index fell 24.91 points, a decrease of 0.32%; the Nasdaq Composite Index declined 159.91 points, a decrease of 0.6%; the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 104.61 points, an increase of 0.87%. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's (TSMC) American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) rose by 0.86%.
Regarding domestic and international industry news, TSMC's board of directors approved a cash dividend of NT$7 per share for the second quarter of 2026 and approved a capital budget of US$29.4425 billion (approximately NT$950.3 billion) for building advanced process, advanced packaging, and specialty process capacity, as well as factory construction and facility engineering.
TSMC also announced that it has signed a legally binding final cooperation agreement with Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation (Sony) to establish a joint venture company, Advanced Vision Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation, in Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. The company is expected to mass-produce image sensors for smartphones in 2029. Sony plans to contribute approximately 465 billion yen to the joint venture through cash investment and asset transfer via company spin-off; TSMC plans to invest approximately 282 billion yen in cash.
Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII), a subsidiary of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (Foxconn), announced its first-half financial report. Benefiting from strong demand for artificial intelligence (AI) computing power, its first-half revenue reached RMB 557.86 billion, a year-on-year increase of 54.6%. Profit attributable to the parent company was RMB 23.74 billion, a year-on-year increase of 96%, reaching a new high for the same period.
PCB manufacturer Zhen Ding Technology Co., Ltd. (ZDT) saw its server, optical module, and IC substrate business revenue double in the first half of the year, increasing its share to 21.6%. ZDT is highly confident in its growth from 2026 to 2030, recognizing the significant global shortage of high-end optical modules and aiming to become the world's largest supplier of high-end optical module PCBs by 2027.
To build a key engine for global advanced AI packaging and testing, packaging and testing company Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new plant in Douliu on the 11th. The plant, costing hundreds of billions of New Taiwan dollars, is expected to incorporate CoWoS advanced packaging processes.
Compal Electronics is actively targeting the AI server market. Its Daxi AI server manufacturing center has been inaugurated. Compal stated that its two plants in Texas, USA, will begin trial production by the end of this year and mass production in early next year.
