In the World U17 Girls' Volleyball Championship held in Chile, Taiwan's team today (13th) defeated Venezuela in straight sets in the Round of 16, with Chang Yun-chen scoring a game-high 19 points, advancing to the quarterfinals. They will next face Thailand for a spot in the semifinals.
Taiwan, which advanced as the third-ranked team in its preliminary group, faced Venezuela head-on in the Round of 16. Despite facing the opponent's tall blocking defense, the Taiwanese girls' volleyball team quickly got into rhythm from the start of the first set, breaking through with flexible tactics and disrupting the opponent's organization with their serves, consecutively taking a commanding lead with 25-21 and 25-19.

In this match, the Taiwanese team showcased a multi-pronged offensive attack. Chang Yun-chen scored a game-high 19 points, Zhan Zi-yun contributed 18 points, and Chen Ting-yi added 14 points. Additionally, setter Hsieh Chen-hsi provided numerous assists to the attackers, becoming an indispensable, unsung hero for the team.
Hsieh Chen-hsi said in a post-match interview that she was very happy at the moment of winning the match and praised the team's excellent performance, especially their delicate ball handling.
