[International] Indonesia Shaken Today! Magnitude 6.9 Earthquake Strikes Sumatra in the Evening

According to data from the U.S. Geological Survey, a magnitude 6.9 strong earthquake struck Sumatra Island in western Indonesia this evening (the 15th). Currently, relevant authorities have not issued a tsunami warning. The U.S. Geological Survey data indicates that the epicenter of this strong earthquake was located 15 kilometers north-northwest of Pematangsiantar, with a focal depth of approximately 172.5 kilometers. Earlier this morning, a magnitude 7.7 strong earthquake also occurred off the coast of Flores Island in eastern Indonesia. Officials from relevant authorities stated earlier that at least 38 people have died and 13 have been injured so far.
