Reuters reported that the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) announced today (20th) that an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 occurred on Flores Island in eastern Indonesia. The EMSC stated that the earthquake had a focal depth of only 10 kilometers. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) website indicated a magnitude of 5.7, with the epicenter located 32 kilometers north-northeast of Ruteng, also at a focal depth of 10 kilometers. Both reports might refer to the same earthquake. An offshore earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck Flores Island early on the 15th. AFP reported yesterday that the death toll had risen to 73, with over 900 injured. (Editor: Liu Xiang-hua) Source link: https://www.rti.org.tw/news?uid=3&pid=227327
