A construction site for a building project on Nanxing Road, Beitun District, Taichung City, was the scene of a fatal industrial accident this afternoon (31st). A foreign migrant worker allegedly lost their footing and fell from the water tank area on the first basement level while working, plummeting directly to the fourth basement level and sustaining severe head injuries. The Taichung City Fire Department received a report of the fall around 4 PM and immediately dispatched rescue personnel to the scene. Preliminary findings indicate that due to the significant fall height and the forceful impact, the migrant worker suffered fatal head trauma. Upon arrival, rescue personnel confirmed the man was deceased and did not transport him to the hospital. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident, and relevant authorities will further clarify whether the working environment and safety protection measures complied with regulations.
